BAD BOYS II

The movie doesn't use the typical codes and conventions of a comedy as it starts in a very serious atmosphere. The scene is shot on water which is not your typical setting for a comedy due to its dangers. Diagetic sound is excellently used in the movie to portray a sense of realism. E.g. when the pills are being arranged during the opening sequence of the movie, the audience can see on the screen and can also hear the pills being arranged which makes the audience believe in their world.  The music used in the movie is parallel to the action seen on the screen as it fits perfectly and reflects on the action on the screen. This is done to enhance the meaning of the shot.
The costumes used in this movie are representatives of the characters. It suggests the importance of the character and its status. E.g. the men in police uniforms show the authority that they have and their purpose in the first five minutes of the movie.  The props such as guns are used in the scene to create tension. Music playing throughout the first four minutes of the film keeps the audience interested in the movie.  The pace of the music also adds to the entertainment of the audience. There are variety of shots used in the opening sequence which also keeps the audience interested and focus on each shot.
